THE COFFIN

The coffin is a technical move that when
mastered, makes anyone look like a top pro.

To initiate the coffin, you must be very comfortable
in the air on your bike. This is true for any trick, but
more true than most other styles for the coffin.
the reason being is that when your torso is jerked
back, your bike will want to pitch upward from the
pulling motion coming from your arms.

You need to come off the jump with plenty of speed so you can use less throttle on the face of the jump in order to keep the front end down. Slide up on the gas tank and lean back while you push your legs up and grip the side of the front number plate with them. An important first move for this is to practice bringing your legs up to the front fender while remaining neutral on the bike. Then separately, work on leaning as far back as possible wihile keeping the bike steady and your feet on the pegs. When its time to combine the two motions, bring your legs up to the fender just silghtly before rotating your torso back on the bike.
